FIFA The Best Awards 2022

The time has come to wind back the clock and celebrate football’s stars of the last year with The Best FIFA Football Awards 2022. The high profile awards will be dished out tonight to the best performers over the last calendar year.

World Cup winners, Argentina have plenty of representation coming into tonight’s awards, with Lionel Messi, Emiliano Martinez and Lionel Scaloni all competing for different awards.

Robert Lewandowski has picked up the men’s award in each of the previous two years, but this year Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe will join Lionel Messi on the final shortlist for the grand prize.

Beth Mead, Alexia Putellas and Alex Morgan are on the shortlist for the women’s award in tonight’s ceremony.

Along with those two main categories, the Puskas Award will be handed out and the best goalkeepers, coaches and fans across the world will also be recognized. The remarkable Marcin Oleksy, an amputee footballer is one of the stand out nominees for tonight’s Puskas Award after scoring a spectacular scissors kick and he will compete for the prize with Richarlison and Dimitri Payet. What an evening ahead of us!

As the ceremony nears, Football stars of the past come together on the green carpet!

Current football superstars of the world have also joined us on the green carpet ahead of the exciting event!

And of course, the green carpet would not be the same without our nominees for tonight’s prestige prizes!

After all the stars of the football world gathered in Salle Pleyel for FIFA The Best Football Awards, the hosts , Jermaine Jenas and Samantha Johnson got us underway!

The ceremony started off with a beautiful tribute for football legend, Pelé.

FIFA The Best awards kick-started with FIFA The Best Women’s Goalkeeper award and was awarded to England and Manchester United’s goalkeeper, Mary Earps!

After Mary Earps, the awards kept rolling in, with Emiliano Martinez winning The Best Men’s goalkeeper, Martin Oleksy winning The Puskas Award, Sarina Wiegman and Lionel Scaloni winning The Best Coaches and Argentina won The Best Fans award.

Last but definitely not least, The Best players awards were recieved by Barcelona’s talisman, Alexia Putellas and Argentina’s hero, Lionel Messi!
