Commentary
After a fairly balanced first half, it was all Bodo after the break. However, the hosts just couldn’t find a breakthrough despite piling intense pressure on a beleaguered Monaco backline. Sébastien Pocognoli’s men have to be commended for delivering an effective defensive display, although they offered very little going forward for large chunks of this match. Having only produced two shots on target all evening and conceded 64% of the possession, it feels like a perfect away performance from the Monégasque outfit. Meanwhile, Bodo are still looking for their first-ever Champions League win after a stuttering start as debutants, but have produced several good performances so far. However, it doesn’t get any easier for Knutsen’s side, who face Juventus on home soil and Dortmund in North Rhine-Westphalia before Christmas. Meanwhile, tonight’s victors Monaco head to Cyprus to play Pafos ahead of hosting Galatasaray on matchday six. We hope you’ve enjoyed our commentary of tonight’s Champions League clash at the Aspmyra Stadion – see you again next time!
