Commentary
Benfica advance to the last 16 of the Champions League after defeating Monaco 4-3 on aggregate following their 3-3 draw in the second leg. In an incredible match, the Portuguese side took the lead in the first half as Akturkoglou finished from close range after good work from Pavilidis. Monaco equalised with Minamino and created some good chances in the first half, with Ben Seghir and Embolo hitting the post. The Swiss striker also missed a glorious chance from yards out on the stroke of half-time. Nevertheless, Monaco did go in front on the night through Ben Seghir but were pegged back by Pavlidis' penalty. A breathless match then went up another level in the final 10 minutes as substitute Ilenikhena put the French side back in the lead. Extra time seemed inevitable but just three minutes later, Kokcu applied the finishing touch to Carreras' teasing cross to send Benfica through and break Monaco hearts. Benfica finished with an xG of 1.90 to Monaco's 1.26. They will now face either Barcelona or Liverpool in the next round. That's all from me, thank you and goodbye!
