Commentary
Southampton's misery continues as a dominant derby display from Brighton condemns Juric's rock bottom side to an eighth successive Premier League defeat. Despite Ramsdale's best efforts, Southampton were unable to stem the tide of wave after wave of Brighton attacks, before Pedro's first-half opener. A one-goal deficit meant Southampton still had a route back into the game after the restart but defensive errors gifted goals to Rutter and Mitoma to put the game beyond them. Hinshelwood's late finish rubbed salt into the Southampton wounds, but the hosts can have few complaints, as relegation moves a step closer for them. Back-to-back Brighton wins moves Hurzeler's side up to 8th in the Premier League tabl,e with an xG of 4.01 matched by four goals in the Southampton net, as the home side ended with 0.13.
